Lauren Krause, Vice President, Head of Development | Essex Property Trust
Lauren Krause is the Vice President of Development at Essex Property Trust, bringing a deep background in development and entitlements to her role. She holds a degree in Urban Planning from the University of California, San Diego, and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley. Lauren began her career in the public sector, focusing on governmental issues within the planning department for the County of San Diego. She later moved into governmental affairs at Allen Matkins before launching her own development consulting practice. Her career shifted to corporate development in 2013 when she joined Carmel Partners. Following her time at Carmel, she served as Vice President at Grosvenor, where she first focused on development before establishing the group’s North American ESG program. Before joining Essex, she was the Vice President, Head of Development – West Coast, for Oxford Properties, a leading global real estate investor. Lauren is an active member of the local and national real estate communities. She serves on a National Product Council with the Urban Land Institute and is a frequent speaker at industry events and educational lectures. When not at work, Lauren is a mother to 7-year-old twins and enjoys mountain biking, skiing, and cooking.
Abbie Wertheim, Partner | Panattoni Development Company
Abbie Wertheim is the Partner for Northern California. Abbie is responsible for oversight and execution of all aspects of development including origination, design, entitlement, construction, leasing and disposition. She leads the development team in Northern California in build-to-suit and speculative development. Since starting with Panattoni in 2020 Abbie has worked as a development manager, senior development manager and became partner in 2025. Prior to joining Panattoni, she was an industrial broker at JLL and worked in real estate economics, helping local jurisdictions in California finance improvements using tax increment financing to encourage development. She managed complex entitlements and significant scale public-private partnerships. Her early work included building an affordable manufacturing facility in San Francisco with New Market Tax Credits. Abbie is active in several professional organizations including LAI, NAIOP, SIOR and previously served on the Executive Board for Urban Land Institute, Sacramento and CREW Program Committee. She is also strongly connected to her community and is an active board member for the Roseville Police Activities League.
Drew Hudacek, Chief Investment Officer, Development Properties | Sares Regis Group Northern California
Drew Hudacek joined Sares Regis in 1999. His responsibilities include capital relationships and land acquisitions for the firm’s capital risk development activities as well as executive management of the various operating divisions in Northern California.

Ramsey Daya, Executive Vice Chairman | Newmark (moderator)
Ramsey Daya joined Newmark in 2017 and heads the Debt and Structured Finance team in Northern California and Pacific Northwest. Prior to joining Newmark, Daya had co-founded Regency Capital Partners in 2006, which he helped grow into the leading independent mortgage brokerage firm in Northern California. The firm specialized in complex structured debt and equity for all product types with a primary focus in Northern California. Prior to merging with Newmark, the firm was averaging over $800 million of debt placement per year. Prior to founding Regency, Daya was a Vice President at Cohen Financial, a nationally recognized mortgage banking firm, and before that he worked in finance at Applied Materials. He began his professional career at Silicon Valley Bank.
